Tricking b-twistFreerunning Showreel 2011

Parkour, also known as freerunning, is a physical discipline which focuses on efficient movement around obstacles. Developed in France by David Belle, the main purpose of the discipline is to teach participants how to move through their environment by vaulting, rolling, running, climbing, and jumping. Parkour practitioners are known as "trickers."

Not to be nitpicky, but parkour and freerunning are two distinct things with two distinct goals. The focus of parkour is utility. It is about function and efficiency in movement.

The goal of freerunning is about asthetics and freedom in movement. That's very different from utility and efficiency.

I'm not saying they're mutually exclusive, but they are distinct.

And parkour practitioners are known as "traceurs", not "trickers." It's a French word. I have no idea what it means.

But great video! Parkour is a lot of fun and is a way to release that inner child that likes to climb and jump and explore. It's gotten me into some amazing places! smilies/wink.gif
