| One of the most basic body weight exercises and is still the main test for upper body strength endurance. There is nothing more basic then a push up. A push up should have it's place in anyone's strength training as a warmup, with some kind of resistance for strength gain or as an endurance builder to finish up a workout. | Position yourself on the ground so that your hands are directly under you shoulders and your body stays in a straight line | |
| Look slightly ahead of you and lower your body maintaining a straight line | |
| Push yourself back up to the starting position and repeat. | |
| Maintain core tension throughout the entire exercise so you do not hinge at the hips |
